July 2008-What do balloons, sticky faces, yummy barbeque, and adorable girls have in common? Why, they were all part of our Great Wall Reunion held this past Saturday on July 12th at Emma Long Park in Austin! What a success! It was a beautiful hot sunny day here in Texas and approximately over 200 people came out to spend the day with us! Smokey Moe’s catered an absolutely delicious lunch that included beef brisket, barbequed chicken, sausage, green beans, coleslaw, potato salad, and peach cobbler. The kids loved bouncing in the moonwalk, playing on the sandy “beach”, getting their faces painted, and getting their faces and hands sticky with cotton candy!

Thank you to all the families who came out to spend the day with us! We really enjoyed meeting all of you and your newest additions! Thank you for your generosity in purchasing our Chinese trays, scrolls, ornamental boxes, and CCAA books. We raised a lot of money for Great Wall’s Charity Missions benefiting the children left behind. Usborne Books also was a big hit, selling an array of educational children’s books. 10% of their proceeds also went to Great Wall’s Charity Missions. Thank you once again for making this reunion a huge success! We hope to see you again next year!
