Angel Stitches is a miraculous charity that pays for children to receive necessary surgeries they might not otherwise receive because of the orphanages’ very limited resources. Snow's visit to the Great Wall Library of Love in Shanghai in 2003 highlighted a need for a new mission. Great Wall Angel Stitches provides medical and surgical treatment to children in orphanages. Many children in orphanages are too old to be adopted and will have no opportunity to seek advanced medical attention without a family to support them. Great Wall Angel Stitches strives to help those children so that they can have some of the same opportunities in life as the children who find loving homes.
If you know of a child in China in need of a surgery, we can make it happen with your donation. For details, please contact us at 512.323.9595 or charitymissions@gwca.org. Great Wall also accepts donations, and finds a child in need of a surgery, and send you photos after the surgery is completed. Donate Today!
Great Wall and China adoption in general, have had positive effects on children… especially those who will remain in China. The CCAA strives to follow this path of American charity and using our example, they have since established the Tomorrow Plan (Summer of ‘03),which is their own major medical aid program to benefit children with a range of needs, throughout every regulated orphanage in China. Often, if there is no specific orphanage or child in mind, donations from Great Wall Angel Stitches go directly to the CCAA’s Tomorrow Plan Project (http://tomorrowplan.org).
The Tomorrow Plan Project pulls its resources from the community rather than strictly from the government. This great leap from the traditional governmental view of charity is testimony to the positive affect families and organizations such as Great Wall can have on the society of China as a whole.
