China Division

One way Great Wall sets itself apart from the rest is by having an international office in the Chinese capital of Beijing where business can be done in a most timely manner.    Very few adoption organizations actually own and operate offices in China, yet we feel this office is vital to the success of a program such as ours.  Great Wall’s China Division is fully staffed by bi-lingual, permanent employees.

Our Beijing Team:

  • Hand-carries your documents to the Chinese officials
  • Keeps close contact with the officials to advocate for you and also to keep you truly updated on the process of your adoption

In fact, our China Division offices are located very near the government agency that oversees China’s International adoption program, the China Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA), which makes it easy to communicate with them on a daily basis.  All dossiers are hand delivered by our team to the CCAA on a weekly basis.  If your complete dossier is received by our Austin office on Wednesday morning, and approved, it will be in China by the following Monday and delivered to the CCAA later that week.  Most agencies will wait until they receive enough dossiers and paperwork to make it financially worth it before they will deliver a batch to CCAA.

And much, much more…
There is also another very important part of our China Division.  These members of our China Division Team will meet you at the Gateway City and coast you through the final step of the adoption process, traveling with you the entire time you are in China.  These are our Great Wall China Guides.

Great Wall's China Guides are English-speaking guides who will escort you throughout your entire trip in China so that your trip will be worry free.  The guides will be there to hold your hand from beginning to end.

Just some of the things your guides will do for you:

  • Contact and coordinate with the provincial civil affairs office, notary office and police office regarding the adoption paperwork requirements of each province, including special rules and policies.  They will also book all of your appointments.
  • Have all your adoption paperwork ready for you when you arrive in your baby’s province (typed and translated)
  • Arrange the delivery of your child and verify the child’s information
  • Take your family to a doctor, if needed.
  • Escort you throughout the trip to adoption meetings, medical checkups and CIS meetings  They are on call 24 hours a day
  • Interpret meetings and conversations with officials, welfare homes, older adopted children, hotel staff and others as needed
  • Review and check Chinese government and CIS adoption paperwork to ensure everything is in order and your that your adoption will proceed smoothly
  • Arrange for group outings to restaurants and sometimes, to the orphanages themselves

Families who have adopted through us rave about our China staff for their professionalism, passion for the children and the level of services received while in China.  You really have to experience how many things our China team will do for you to believe it!  Families who have worked with other agencies for their first adoption and with us for their second and third adoption all say that there is no comparison between their first agency and ours when it goes to support and handholding in China.
